SUMMERSTRAND #3

Project Details

This unit was one of our first units we renovated for Airbnb purposes which was another big undertaking. It had been “modernised” a year before but was done very poorly and didn’t maximise the view. Everything was a dark brown, from the floors to the cupboards, which meant it all had to be gutted. We went with a similar colour and style combination as with the Summerstrand #2 unit as it just worked so well. The kitchen was done similarly except that we added brighter Moroccan tiles for the splashback which really made the kitchen pop with the right amount of colour and pattern. Vintage Photos of port Elizabeth were placed in shabby chic frames and hung above the large corner couch as a focal point. Our guests love these photos as they give an amazing insight into what Port Elizabeth was like a hundred years ago. The balcony was a dreary and uninspiring place to sit which was very disappointing as the views over the ocean are breathtaking. But we changed all this and now it is an amazing place to sit and have a drink or watch the sun rise over a cup of coffee.
