We brought this unit back to modern standards after nothing had changed since it was built in 1997. We totally gutted it to it’s bare bones and then started modernising it from there.
Light glazed porcelain tiles were laid throughout and we painted the walls a light and neutral creamy colour to give it a bright and airy feeling as it was a very dark unit when we bought it.
A new kitchen was put in with white wooden shaker style doors and a mottled white Caesarstone counter top. Moroccan themed tiles were used as the splashback throughout the kitchen which broke up the monotony of all the whites.
We painted the main bedroom wall behind the bed a darkish gray colour with vintage white burglar bars as the headboard. This worked out amazingly well.
Colourful patterned blinds were used in the bedrooms and bathrooms to add some uniqueness.
Our standard theme of shabby chic mixed with quality linens and materials has once again worked very well and is liked by all of our guests. They are always complimenting us on this style and quite a few have asked how we did all this as they would like to replicate this style in their own homes!
This unit has turned out to be our most successful Airbnb unit of all!!
