This was a fairly big renovation purely because we took out the ceilings and exposed the trusses. We had to remove some walls so as to make the flow of the apartment better. All the old carpet was removed and we re-did the floor. A concrete topping with colouring was added to the existing concrete floor. We removed the ceilings and left the trusses exposed so as to create the illusion that the apartment is much bigger. We then painted the trusses white and the whole apartment just feels so much bigger and brighter. When you walk in and see the open plan lounge, kitchen and exposed trusses, you just automatically feel like you are on holiday. The kitchen was an enclosed room so we removed the wall that leads into the lounge and this simple design has made the world of difference. We also took out the sliding door that lead onto the balcony so as to make the living area a good size. We laid Moroccan tiles only where the old balcony was just to differentiate it from the rest of the room and make it feel unique.
